Happy birthday to you

I think, what did you do?

I hope you had a great time,

and some cake you did chew!

(please sing the above in the traditional happy birthday way)

I hope you had a really great day today and that tomorrow’s Labor Day is complete with absolutely no labor involved. Coming soon will be a recording of the boys singing to you, but I’ve just come home from a weekend away to nobody here. With my super sleuthing skills, I’ve deduced that Papa and the boys have gone to a rock and mineral show. And knowing Papa, I’m not going to even make a guess as to when they will be home.

Cassidy and I had a weekend away in Rhode Island. It was my very first-time leaving Hugo and Pax for the night! That part was hard, but meandering around mansions in Newport and window shopping in adorable towns was sooooo easy. We went to a cool thing called Water-Fire in Providence. Along the river that runs through the city, people set fire to big bowls that stick out of the water. They look like floating fires. It’s really lovely to see.

I hope your birthday was happy and fun and carefree. I’m going to go now and eat a couple of chocolate bars in your honor.

Goodnight you big old kid! I love you.
