There are so many happenings to catch up on. This time I’m going to write as little as possible to try and even out having put too many pictures in this post. Looking back, I feel like I’ve fit a lot in to the end of the summer. And now, here are too many pictures for you.

Hugo’s birthday!!!

Below is the pre-party still life (presently in the Autumn LLBean catalog).

The rest are some pictures from the day. Hugo had a really great time. Everybody went swimming, took the canoe out, and ate lots of stuff over the fire.

This was the bus ride down to the party.
Ishmael decorated this one.

And an old song for your birthday too…

This video was taken the day after the last post. I wasn’t very timely in putting it online.

Then there was Tom and Christina’s wedding!

Here’s a nice shot of Phoebe enjoying Hugo’s relaxed demeanor at the reception.

Cassidy and I went to RI for the weekend. …

Apple Camp!…

It was really great, although I don’t have very many pictures to show for it. It took place at a beautiful summer camp on a lake. We had our own cabin and could hear loons calling late into the night. It sounded so wild, aery and echoey. I think the best part was getting to try paddle-boarding for the first time. The worst part was the boys deciding to throw rocks at the wasp’s nest.

I love this next picture because Hugo looks like such a baby. This was taken after the ride home from the weekend. It’s interesting how someone can be so big and so little at the same time.

And then, there are the random pictures that fill in the rest of the end of summer….

Fall planting in the greenhouse with a contemplative Pax.

Ishmael and the snake.

Easy, breezy, beautiful in the tomato cave.

This next video might be the scariest thing you will see this Halloween.

I like to call this next one, “Cousins expressing themselves in a tree”.

Hugo and the Praying Mantis.

Newly released: This Autumn’s STEM catalog

Thanks, Nona, for the awesome hydraulic robot hand! Hugo did all of the recycling with me happily yesterday, thanks to this new hand extension. It was so much work to make it, and he is so very proud.

Alright Hugo, whenever you are ready….act natural….

Okay, let’s try one more. How about you just give me a thumbs up….Okay – Perfect!!!

Lego eye patches for Lego-loving pirates!

Seeing as it is the beginning of the homeschool year, I’ll end this post with some fashion – homeschool style…Looking good, homeschool kid!
