Just another morning letter

Good morning! It’s 5:30 and it’s so quiet that I can hear the fridge running. It’s always running, you know. The boys are spread out in perpendicular diagonals on my bed. Sometimes I don’t know how it happens – I just wake up in the morning and they are there again. They are like raccoons that I can’t get rid of that love me. They keep getting by all my traps and deterrents and end up in my bed again by the morning. They’re so cute. They just want to snuggle.

Today’s my girl’s day. Cassidy and I are going to a mansion tour in the city. I’ve never been and I’m really excited. Then we are going shopping on the way home. You know, like a couple of fancy ladies with not a care in the world. No canning tomatoes today for this fancy lass. Actually, I’m going to be up pretty late tonight canning tomatoes because of the time I’m taking off to be a fancy lady. It’s all a balance.

Hugs just had his fifth birthday! 5! Other kids his age are in school all day and taking the bus. I still don’t know 100% how I feel about this homeschool thing, but it is really nice to not have him gone for most of the day.

For his birthday, we took him on a boat to an island. We went to this lovely tiny beach and stayed for most of the day. We had pizza from this guy that Papa’s friends with, who has a cool brick oven he can pull around on a trailer. Then we came home and had cake. He had a great time turning 5.

Paxy’s birthday’s next. Send me a comment about how you would spend the day to celebrate his big number 4!
